Clinician helping a client build back strength for chronic pain
01Persistent Pain

Pain That Does Not Fit the Usual Story

Some pain does not behave the way it is supposed to. Scans come back normal, treatments help for a day or two, or the pain moves around. That does not mean it is in your head. Persistent pain is often driven by several things at once, and it needs a team that can look at all of them.

Art of Mobility brings physiotherapy, chiropractic care, massage therapy, pelvic health physiotherapy, vestibular therapy, psychotherapy and naturopathy under one roof in Port Credit and Trinity Bellwoods. We assess, explain and treat, and we work alongside your family doctor and specialists rather than replacing them.

Client Stories

What Our Clients Say

After a miscarriage in 2023, I wanted to give myself the best chance at a healthy pregnancy. I started working with Tanisha, who took the time to deeply understand my body and goals. She reviewed my diet, prescribed targeted supplements, and created a plan to support fertility and egg quality. Just three months later, I became pregnant. Today, we’re cuddling our newborn baby girl—and I’m forever grateful. Tanisha was not only knowledgeable, but compassionate and empowering throughout the entire journey. I recommend her to anyone looking to take their health—and their future—seriously.
Bianca Pang
I lived with TMJ for four years—chronic jaw pain, headaches, and constant tension. I tried everything with little relief. AOM was the first place that looked beyond the pain to understand the root cause. Dr. Colby and the team assessed my posture, neck, and overall tension patterns. Their approach was different: holistic, targeted, and rooted in mobility and awareness. Within weeks, my symptoms improved dramatically. I finally felt heard, supported, and seen—not just treated. If you’re dealing with chronic pain and haven’t found answers, AOM is where your healing journey can truly begin.
Gabriel Simmons
Before joining Art of Mobility, I was in constant leg pain and couldn’t correct my posture no matter what I tried. The team—Dr. Colby, Justin, and Christian—designed a personalized program combining hands-on therapy and specific exercises. In just a few months, not only did the pain disappear, but I was lifting weights without even feeling sore the next day. I’m now in the best shape of my life and finally understand how my body works. Their patience, care, and encouragement kept me going, and their deep knowledge made all the difference. AOM changed my relationship with movement forever.
Heather Simpson
I came to AOM dealing with digestive issues and inflammation that no doctor had been able to fully solve. Working with Tanisha gave me a whole new understanding of my health. She created a tailored plan and helped me become more intentional with my habits. Then I started physio with Tharaniya to address chronic lower body pain. Her approach was not just clinical—it was fitness-informed, empowering, and deeply personal. With her help, I’m now moving pain-free and stronger than ever. AOM didn’t just treat my symptoms—they helped me reconnect with my body. This place is one-of-a-kind.

Sound Familiar?

"My MRI looks fine, but it still hurts."

Imaging shows structure, not sensitivity. Pain can persist when the nervous system stays on high alert, and that is something we can treat.

"I have seen three practitioners and nothing has stuck."

Treating one piece at a time often misses the bigger picture. Here, your clinicians share one chart and one plan.

"My pain moves around and flares for no clear reason."

We track patterns in sleep, stress, workload and activity to find what drives your flare-ups.

"Since my concussion, I still get dizzy and foggy."

Lingering symptoms often involve the neck, the vestibular system and the nervous system together.

"My back or hip pain might be coming from somewhere else."

Pelvic floor, jaw and breathing patterns can all contribute to pain elsewhere. We check.

"I have been told it is just stress."

Stress can amplify pain, but that does not make the pain less real. We address both.

How We Work It Out

1. A thorough first assessment. More time to hear your full story, review what you have tried, and assess movement, strength, sensitivity and lifestyle factors.

2. A team review. Your clinician considers what other disciplines could help, whether that is pelvic health, vestibular therapy, psychotherapy or naturopathy.

3. One coordinated plan. You get a clear explanation and a plan that combines the right therapies in the right order.

4. Measured re-checks. We track pain, function and the things that matter to you, and adjust as you improve.

Why a Multidisciplinary Clinic Helps

One team. Physiotherapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, pelvic health physiotherapists, psychotherapists and a naturopathic doctor under one roof.

One chart. You tell your story once, and everyone treating you can see the full picture.

One plan. Treatments are chosen and sequenced to work together, not stacked on top of each other.

Working with your doctor. We do not replace medical care. If something needs medical investigation, we will tell you and are happy to share findings with your physician.

08FAQs

Persistent Pain FAQs

Do you diagnose the cause of unexplained pain?

We assess and explain what is likely driving your pain from a movement, nervous system and lifestyle perspective. We do not diagnose medical diseases, and if anything suggests a medical cause needs investigating, we will refer you back to your doctor.

Who should I book with first?

Most people start with a physiotherapy or chiropractic assessment. If you are not sure, book a free 20-minute consultation and we will match you.

Do I need a referral or imaging?

No. Bring any reports or imaging you have, but they are not required.

Will I have to see lots of different people?

Only if it will help. Your lead clinician brings in other disciplines one step at a time.

How long does it take to improve?

Persistent pain usually improves gradually. Many people notice changes within a few weeks, and we measure progress so you can see it.

Is it covered by insurance?

Physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage therapy, psychotherapy and naturopathy are each commonly covered by extended health plans, and we direct bill most insurers.

Can I keep seeing my own doctor or specialist?

Yes. We are happy to work alongside your existing care.

Which locations can I visit?

Port Credit in Mississauga and Trinity Bellwoods in Toronto, with virtual options for some services.
